Campus Ambassadors

Venture for America is looking for Campus Ambassadors at universities across America to help us generate awareness and interest among prospective applicants on campus. If you want to learn more about our program, this is a great way to get plugged in!

This is an unpaid internship for the 2013-2014 school year. However, there are several perks including:

Campus Ambassadors will be tasked with:

  • Raising awareness through flyers, listserv/email campaigns, Facebook, Twitter, and other online and offline initiatives
  • Developing partnerships with on-campus student organizations and faculty members
  • Assisting with on-campus Venture for America events
  • Brainstorming innovative online Venture for America marketing campaigns

Communications Intern (Providence and New York)

We’re currently seeking a highly motivated college student to join our team and help craft and implement a communications strategy for the 2014 VFA Training Camp. From June 22nd through July 25th, 2014 VFA will hold our annual 5-week training camp on the campus of Brown University. We’re looking for an energetic, savvy, do-it-all communications guru who’s ready to dive into Training Camp and share what’s going on there with the world.

You:

  • Are a student at a top college/university with a major in communications, marketing, writing, or related
  • Are able to interact with and work alongside peers and professional adults appropriately
  • Demonstrate next-level organizational skills and detail-orientation. Typos make you sick.
  • Can prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Not only have very strong writing skills, but you love doing it. Have the ability to produce compelling content quickly in the VFA brand voice.
  • Have created content before for an internship or organization you’re involved with (website, blog, social media, newsletters, e-mails, and/or collateral)
  • Able to identify opportunities and channels for sharing content and engaging our audiences
  • Have strong values alignment with VFA and Team. Passionate about what VFA is doing and wants to share it with the world.

What you’ll do:

  • Work alongside the Communications Manager to develop a comms strategy and calendar for the 2014 Training Camp
  • Oversee and manage all Training Camp-related communications
  • Produce compelling daily content on trainings, speakers, and other Training Camp events for the VFA Training Camp Tumblr
  • Assist as needed with the VFA blog, e-newsletters, and website
  • Oversee all Training Camp-related social media efforts (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Linkedin)
  • Proactively identify other opportunities to create relevant and interesting content related to VFA
  • Fill other communications needs as needed (website updates, creating documents, e-mail marketing, and more)
  • Take photos to accompany content

Development Intern

We’re currently seeking a highly motivated college student to join our team and jump right in to support our fundraising efforts. We’re currently looking for someone to support a Development team of three to research and manage prospective and current donors, including corporate sponsors, foundations and individuals.

You:

  • Are a student at a top college/university
  • Are able to interact with and work alongside peers and professional adults appropriately
  • Can prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Possess effective communication skills
  • Are intuitive and possess a high processing speed
  • Have 1 or more previous internships or other professional experience
  • Have strong values alignment with VFA and Team
  • Experience with Salesforce a plus

What you’ll do:

  • Research high-profile potential supporters
  • Draft correspondence
  • Help prepare newsletters and other communications
  • Draft reports and analyze data
  • Update the donor database
  • Assist at VFA’s annual fundraiser
