Laila, an Egyptian-American, grew up on the banks of the Nile in Cairo, Egypt and graduated from Tufts University in 2010 with a degree in International Relations. Following graduation, Laila and her best friend spent almost two years building a concert promotions company in Cairo, Egypt. After wrangling artists, negotiating sponsorships, designing stages, and traversing the revolution, Laila moved to New York City where she took a brief detour into entertainment law. In 2014, she had the opportunity to join Venture for America’s Talent team. As a member of the Talent team, Laila loves meeting and selecting future entrepreneurs. When Laila is not chatting with VFA applicants, you can find her longing after other people’s dogs at the dog park, trying out new spots in the East Village, and (as long as it’s above 50 degrees) spending as much time as possible in the great out of doors.
