Betsye Moon Park
After ten years living and working in Vietnam, Betsye Moon Park moved back to the States with her family. She started her love for nonprofit management when working for a summer dance festival (Snowy Range Summer Dance Festival) during her undergraduate years at the University of Wyoming, and upon graduating with a BA in Dance, continued in Chicago as a dancer performing, teaching, and admin-ing! She went on to earn her Master’s degree in Arts Management from Columbia College Chicago, and officially shifted to nonprofit management when she joined The Joffrey Ballet for four years as Finance and HR Manager.
With the love of travel firmly cemented in her, she and her husband decided to find job opportunities in Ho Chi Minh City Vietnam, and moved to Vietnam to make another shift into the world of private equity, where she oversaw finance and human resources for a private equity firm. Community development was always near to her heart, and after four years in the private sector, Betsye returned to nonprofit work, and established herself as a finance and HR expert in Ho Chi Minh City, working with nonprofits over the next several years. Most recently, Betsye served as Executive Consultant and Interim Executive Director for LIN Center for Community Development, and continues to serve on the Board of Advisors. Betsye has never let her dance light dim, and continues to keep up on certifications and training.
She holds a diploma in the Contemporary Dance teachers’ course from the National Association of Teachers of Dancing, and loves a good Latin-inspired Zumba class. As a Midwesterner, Betsye was excited to join the Detroit VFA team and she resides in the Detroit area with her husband, son and daughter, and two dogs Baxter and Wilson.
