Katie is a rustbelt enthusiast with a knack for illuminating exceptional people and their ideas in our often overcast region. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Sociology from Kent State University and a Master of Public Administration degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She earned a Professional Coaching Certification from Duquesne University.
At VFA, Katie is the Director of Pittsburgh, where she primarily works on fundraising, community partnerships, and supports fellows on their journey. Prior to joining VFA, Katie held a variety of positions in local government and community development. She is involved with two local nonprofits, as a board member for New Sun Rising and a Mentor for PULSE.
When not working on inclusive innovation, Katie loves to run, camp, hike, and explore new places with her husband, Mike. Due to her cat and dog, she also spends a lot of downtime vacuuming. She gets very excited about Halloween and Thai food, and will watch Jurassic Park anytime, anywhere.
